What To Do

Sherborne has a wealth of attractions.

Here is an overview of Sherborne Attractions opening times, prices and contact information. In addition to normal public opening, group visits can be arranged as follows:

Sherborne Abbey

Regular guided tours; private tours by arrangement with the Parish Office.

Sherborne Castle

Sherborne Old Castle

Group discounts available.

St John’s Almshouse

Group guided tours by arrangement.

Sherborne Museum

Blue Badge Guide

Group tours on request and can be tailored to particular interests. If visitors prefer to make their own way around, the Tourist Information Centre has a good 50p self-guided town trail.

Visitors can also while away time in the lovely high street with many independent shops and regular markets. There are also regular free lunchtime organ recitals in the Abbey (generally Wednesdays at 1pm, except for bank holiday weeks when they are on Mondays). During the autumn and spring terms there are also free lunchtime recitals by boys from Sherborne School in Cheap Street Church at 1.30pm on a Friday.
