Founded in 1957 the Sherborne Historical Society is a society for those interested in history, both local and world wide. Lectures from distinguished speakers take place in the regular meetings throughout the winter months with interesting field trips organised in the summer.
Meetings are held at The Digby Hall, Hound Street, Sherborne, Dorset, DT9 3AA, approximately once a fortnight during the winter months. Lectures commence at 8pm preceded by coffee from 7.20pm. For dates and details of Upcoming Talks please visit the website.
Membership: The annual membership subscription for the year ending 31st August 2016 is £15.00 (no charge for students in secondary, higher or further education). The subscription is payable to the Sherborne Historical Society.
Visitors: Visitors are welcome to attend lectures provided that the capacity of the hall is not exceeded, when members will have priority. A fee of £5.00 is payable per person per lecture (students, as above, no charge)
