Compton Valence – snowdrops

Compton Valence is a tiny hamlet approximately 7 miles west of Dorchester. It is particularly beautiful for a couple of weeks in early February when the snowdrops are in flower. The snowdrops cascade down the banks on the sides of the narrow road leading to the village off the old Roman road,  creating a stunning display.

Drive or walk through the village and admire the drifts of snowdrops and then pop into the village hall for lunch or tea.
