On Sunday 3rd December the Sherborne Festival Shopping Day was enjoyed by townsfolk and visitors alike. Shops were open with many offering mulled wine or mince pies to shoppers, and there were market stalls around town selling everything from Christmas wreaths to cider to antiques. For the kids there was face painting, free chocolates and Santa’s Grotto. There was singing and dancing in the streets with local schools and groups contributing to the live entertainment, including Irish dancing, Clog dancing, Morris dancing and Christmas Carols. The festival ended with a parade down Cheap Street and finally the Christmas tree lights were turned on in the Conduit.
Here are some photos from the day. Happy memories!
